New integration: Swarm
Swarm (by Foursquare) is now available as an integration. Every place you check in to becomes a diary entry.
What it collects
When you connect Swarm, deariary fetches your daily check-ins and pulls in:
- Venue details: name, category, address, city, and country
- Your shouts: the comment you add when checking in
- Photos: images attached to your check-ins, displayed in the media gallery
- Companions: friends you checked in with
- Events: concerts, sports matches, and other events at the venue
Check-in photos appear in your entry’s media gallery. Venue locations appear in the location timeline with an embedded map. Visit counts per category (cafes, parks, airports, etc.) appear as highlight cards.
How it works
- Go to Settings > Integrations and select Swarm
- Authorize deariary to read your Swarm check-ins via Foursquare OAuth
- Your check-ins are fetched each day and woven into your diary entry alongside your other integrations
Check-in times display in your configured timezone, so a lunch check-in in Tokyo shows as noon, not 3 AM UTC.
Why Swarm
Location is the context that ties a day together. You remember “the cafe near the river where we talked for three hours” more vividly than “April 10, 2026.” Swarm users already record those moments by checking in. deariary turns that habit into a diary.
If you connected a webhook with location data before, Swarm replaces that manual step with a native integration.
Availability
Swarm is available on all plans. On the Free plan, it counts toward your one-integration limit.
