New integration: Trakt
Trakt is now available as an integration. The movies and TV episodes you track on Trakt each day flow into your diary entry automatically.
What it collects
When you connect Trakt, deariary fetches your watch history and ratings for the day and pulls in:
- Movies watched: title, year, runtime, and the overview when Trakt provides one
- TV episodes watched: every episode, grouped under the show it belongs to
- Ratings: the 1 to 10 scores you gave movies, shows, or episodes
- Watch counts: how many unique shows and movies you finished that day, surfaced as highlight cards
Episodes are grouped so a six-episode binge of one show reads as a single thread in the diary, not six separate lines. Highlight cards link to the title’s page on app.trakt.tv.
One caveat: Trakt’s public API does not expose poster or still images, so highlight cards for Trakt are text only. Everything else, including runtime, overview, and the localized title for non-English releases, comes back in full.
Setup
- Head to Settings > Integrations and pick Trakt from the integration list
- Sign in with your Trakt account to authorize read access to your history and ratings
- From the next morning, deariary fetches the previous day’s watches and ratings and weaves them into your entry
Why Trakt
Anything you watched long enough to track tends to be something you cared about that day. Trakt users already log these moments. deariary turns the log into a sentence you will want to re-read a year from now.
If you use Plex, Kodi, Infuse, or any other player that scrobbles to Trakt, your watch history flows into deariary automatically.
Availability
Trakt is available on every paid plan and the Free plan. On the Free plan, Trakt counts as your one active integration.
