New integration: Linear, and two new use-case pages
Linear is now available as an integration. The issues you close, the comments you write, and the project updates you post flow into your diary entry automatically.
What Linear collects
When you connect Linear, deariary fetches your activity for the day and pulls in:
- Issues completed: issues you closed or cancelled, with team and project context
- Issues created: new issues you filed
- Issues in progress: issues that saw activity (comments, status changes) but were not created or closed that day
- Comments: every comment you wrote, including on teammates’ issues
- Project updates: status writeups you posted, with the health indicator (on track, at risk, off track)
Highlight cards show the number of issues completed, grouped by team. Each card links to the issue on Linear.
Issues that were closed before the current day are excluded even if a teammate comments on them. The comment itself is still captured, but the issue does not appear in the “completed” bucket.
Team picker
After you authorize Linear, a team picker appears in the settings page. Select which teams you want to sync. Only issues, comments, and project updates from those teams will be included in your diary.
This works the same way as GitHub’s repository picker: you choose what matters, and everything else is ignored. If you do not select any teams, the fetcher will not run until you configure at least one.
Setup
- Go to Settings > Integrations and pick Linear from the list
- Authorize read-only access to your Linear workspace
- Select the teams you want to track
- From the next morning, your Linear activity appears in your diary entry
New use-case pages on the landing page
Two new pages on deariary.com/use-cases show how deariary works for specific lifestyles:
- Entertainment diary: a day built around Steam, Trakt, Last.fm, and Bluesky. Walks through what a diary entry looks like when your evening is games, shows, and music.
- Travel diary: a one-day Lisbon trip using Todoist, Google Calendar, Swarm, Bluesky, and Last.fm. Includes a sample diary entry with highlights, photos, and a location timeline with maps.
Both pages include a “day in your life” timeline showing when each integration fires, a sample diary entry with real highlight cards and media, and a breakdown of what runs automatically versus what you choose to log yourself.
Availability
Linear is available on every paid plan and the Free plan. On the Free plan, Linear counts as your one active integration.
